Fish Hatchery

This summer we went to the A.F. fish hatchery. It is pretty cool down there. Lots of different birds, huge fish and even a muskrat swimming around. There are nature trails and the audubon society goes there to go bird watching.

Pepper had fun... especially when she found a dead fish when I wasn't looking and ROLLED IN IT!!! As luck would have it, we did NOT bring the crate to put her in for the drive so she spent the whole time with her putrid body in MY face! Silly dog. We'll have to watch her more closely when out in nature.

Poor Goose had all the luck. These are welts from stepping in stinging nettle.

And this is where she decided to try and catch a fish with her hands. Little did she know they have nice sharp teeth. She knows now! She got bit and had blood running down her finger. At least she was a good sport about it.

The fish in this stream were HUGE! We took some bread and fed them. It is fun to watch them jump and swarm trying to get the food.
It was a great day, even the stinging nettle and fish bites.

I love the picture with her and Ben!

Being bit by a fish is a priceless story!
